I found my way to clay almost accidently by agreeing on going ceramic classes with a friend of mine when we were children looking for escape from daily school routine. Not knowing what to expect I found passion for ceramic growing on me. I always loved expressing myself through various channels of art, but it was only when I had finished college that I found clay becoming my profession.
Often working with clay I am Inspired by landscapes and nature. As clay comes from earth and lets itself be formed into almost anything that the maker desires I have found my interest in researching the ways to keep the rawness of clay in my pieces. The latest work focuses on bringing together the roughness of black clay with fine smooth porcelain. As I have always lived by the sea I look for inspiration from the coastlines, where sea meets with land. The connection of these two fine lines are often unparalleled and leave us with strong emotions and memories that always call us back to admire the view of the two worlds end.
